Year of Monkey 欢喜过大年

恍然一看,居然懒怠这许久了!
借口总是要有的。最成立的也是真正2015伤心榜排行首选啊:我的电脑硬盘完全、彻底、毅然决然毫无预警地,毁掉了。修电脑的家伙都没见过如此重伤,口气之婉转。
我那多少千万的照片啊啊,排了一半大半的文章啊啊,还有所有的文件记录 OMG.
更伤的是新一个iMac. 原以为不就一个大iPhone嘛,可真拗呀,不光拗手,脑袋也更不太跟得上,不是一个物种似的。
万丈高楼新一年,平地起。

那,就从除夕这一天开启吧。
中午请客。秉承一贯作风,好不好吃顺不顺意不说,量要够。不喜欢party完回家下面条的体验。

My hard drive was totally broken.
It hit my life in a very tough way. All recipes, notes, records, and ten of thousands of pictures...
Ahhh.
While, I'm finally getting ready for a fresh begin. Let's celebrate a great year of Monkey, full with active, smart, brilliant and hope!









烧腊老板娘问,你要喂饱几只部队 ^_^
原来只为吃,客人来到才发现,它已大红大紫成为合影之影帝,与之各种吻各种亲密各种造型角度不一而足。
Classic Golden Roasted Pork. I mean, Roasted whole pig. It is easy to buy, but very not easy to cut and eat all part smart. Glad we did it well.






满堂红盆菜。龙虾鲍鱼鸡鸭鱼圆五花肉斋菜。不过除了费功夫提前一一分开备好,看上去热热闹闹的,加热一整子也不用多操心,还算是应景又省心了。
Full Pot of Red & Lucky. In southern China, a traditional to arrange all precious and difficult to cook ingredients separately per their best way to cook, then assemble to a pleasant pot. Including but not limited to oblongs, lobsters, prawns, chicken, duck, pork, fish ball, mushroom, bamboo shoots, taro, veg. People believe it is a delicious dish and sure will bring in good luck. 






家乡的卤菜粉和牛腩筋汤米粉。 当然,各取所好,合并着又未尝不可。怎么开心怎么着。卤锅是头一天开好冰好的,早上切就是。请客吃饭要指望自己也能舒服享用,客到前时间就是生命。我往往3、4件同时齐头并进。成就感----还没老,但脑袋有时候都快烧起来了。
Rice Noodle Bowl. In whichever you prefer way. I like it not only from my hometown tradition, but also I can prepare most part ahead of the day. The only challenge is to cook much rice noodle on the same morning of the party. Gee it is A LOT!




十全十美的十香菜。口感真的不错,意头也好。就是备起来麻烦些。肉太大,陪衬的就小吃素菜了。
Mixed Ten Vegetable Salad. Ten is the perfect number. Meant full and a lot. The thing is you need to cook all ten different vegetable in their different way then mix together. But the dish taste great either warm or cold, so I usually make a lot, and have them ready in a minute. 




家里过年总少不了的腐竹和芹菜。凡事要勤快,生活要富足。想想都是一种提醒和朴实的愿望。
Bean Curd and Celery Salad. They call it bean curd or tofu skin, I just tell kiddos soy milk skin. Great nutrition and texture, while pronounce just alike "rich" in Chinese. We have it all the time in new year. Celery sounds closely like working hard,  it is a light dish, but with encouragement and hope. 




真正的拍出来的黄瓜。我对刀的气力纵是百忙之中都还可以过关哈。最是解腻的爽口小菜。其实泡萝卜也挺好的,还有菜头彩头的意思,只是味儿闻上去够重的,罢了。
Sweet and Sour Cucumber Salad. No matter how you like the roasted pork, this dish goes the fastest. 





发现水果分着摆更好,放几个小时不串味儿,卖相也保持得更佳(想想看菠萝上的草莓红,甜瓜上的蓝莓籽籽...)
New way to do my fruits. Don't mixed them when over three selections. Easier to pick and less to mess.



烤出来的红豆年糕。加了炼乳,少糖,轻奶香味儿,小仓红豆很给力。
My Near Year Cake w/Sweet Red Beans. Traditionally they are steamed. I try the oven version this year, not bad. And the taste is light and healthy. 




甜点心就是受欢迎,特别小又讨喜。
More sweets. With red beans paste or Lotus paste inside. Gone so fast :) 





亚洲的薯片。过节才有膨化食品吃,孩子们难得开心。
Asian style fish chips.





各式喝就不一而足了。发现西柚迷迭香泡水是不错喔。
I try Texas grapefruit and rosemary to infuse the water. Taste very pleasant. 







怎么吃,脆皮猪就是沾白糖最好啊。又肥又甜,幸福感罪恶感都极度升华。
It's a super star. Dip in sugar or wrap in lettuce with Hosing sauce. The roasted pork is just fresh, crispy, and heavenly good, fat. 




焖腐竹和釀圆子,要的就是富足团圆的彩头。
Meat Ball inside the Tofu skin. And More Bean Curd. 






















接着吃。鸡鸭鱼肉,不大吃怎么叫过年。
You have to have chicken for new year. And a whole one with head and tail telling you a whole giant good luck. Roasted Duck and fish is the same. Whole thing, with head and tail, no matter you can finish them or not. And actually you better have some left over, because it means more fortune to keep. 







家乡的香芋扣肉。入口即化的香和糯。
Our hometown traditional park belly with taro. You need to braise, fry, steam and sauce on. A lot of work and time, so we always make many bowl then just steam and serve later on.





当然要有生菜。
Lettuce means, again, making money. Which is very important...lol! You just cannot afford to skip any good luck dish. 






还有饺子
There is no new year if without dumplings. To the north part of China. But we as southern still take it and follow. My kids specially love the pot stickers, so we always cook extra per request. 




开油锅时,给孩子们的赏。看在热油里几秒钟的华丽呈现,魔术一般的,我小时候也哇哇的叫,如今孩子们也惊奇的叫。过年的记忆就这么传承下来。
We always have a fry pot handy during new year, since so many traditional dish retire deep fry to prepare. This kind of special chips are my treat when accompany daddy to fry whatever, nowadays, it become my kiddos most wanted treat for new year already. I guess this is a part of family tradition pass down to the next generation. Best wishes for your new year, and enjoy the precious time sharing our own stories with love ones.
