Pork Chop for Lunch Box

Trying to reduce deli meat from kiddos' lunch boxes.
Pork Chop Steak is one of their favorites recently. Very meaty, juicy, and, adjustable to their prefer flavors.


I always put soy sauce, mirin, and wine on the chops for 1/2 hour before grill. Make sure cook through but not over to dry it out.

How fun it is to imagine when they open the lunch box and smile on this big piece of healthier meat!

10/21/12 lunch: Warm Chicken Salad

Crazy schedules this October. Have been miss a lot of cook in my kitchen. Let's BBQ a little before heading to the next party...


Marinate the chicken one day ahead. BBQ outdoor could be so relaxing in this weather, finally!
 
I gradually reduce processed meat in kiddos' lunch pack. So fresh grilled chicken & fish steak gets more and more popular recently. Whenever BBQ, I do several extra for their next day lunch sandwich. Yum!
 
 

Warm Chicken & Roman salad with tomato, celery, strawberry, kiwi berry, cashew, lemon yogurt dressing & olive oil. Very light and refresh.
 
 

 
 
 

One of my children never enjoy salad simply does not like any sauce/dressing. This is the first served one ever finished! It's a good idea to use yogurt to replace vinegar they don't like ( and keep healthy too!)

晨曦中的一碗面

今天是National Walk to School Day(五花八门的National Day啊)。6点半起来,天还黑,户外才60F,要来一碗热腾腾的面面,暖暖的出门。


 

看着是斋的,其实不然。晚上熬出厚厚的浓浓的猪骨汤头 ,煮细面,滚几片生菜,白胡椒,白芝麻,麻油,简单而温暖。
 
 
 
小朋友呼啸着下了楼,第一缕晨光都随他们撒下来了。多美好的一天。他们还不会想邻居的小孩,为妈妈送上学而恼火....
