11/22/12: Thanksgiving Dinner 2012

Once upon a year, here we go, Thanksgiving! The very holiday we always keep quiet & privacy for own family.

Soup: Butternut Squash Soup. Of course baked with butter, pepper, and garlic. Of course sauteed onion, then squash, then chicken Booth & cream & milk. Just need to credit my Cuisinart Hand Mixer: works a charm! So easy and fast to smoothie a soup! Love it.

Salad: Spring Field w/Pine nut, tangerine, and Carrot.

The Big Bird: Herb-Butter Roast Turkey. we do a 16lb this year. Still use William Sonoma's bringing w/apple cider one day ahead. Rub fresh herb butter under & on skin. Honey on last half hour. So juicy & flagrancy the whole house ( if not the whole block...) Cannot wait for the left over sandwich & turkey soup tomorrow!

Cranberry-Orange Conserve: I woke up early morning with a new recipe on mind: use fresh squeezed orange juice (harvest from our yard) & Sugar-Free Maple Flavor Syrup to keep the sweet and lower the calories! The orange strips & walnut well balanced with the bay leaves, vinegar & cranberry. So smart ---  I am not always create new recipe on bed :)

Green Bean Casserole: My kiddos cannot love this one more.

Mashed Potatoes: Kids order mozzarella on top. Creamy & smooth. I like this Lenox line of bone china: elegant + dishwasher & oven safe!

Roasted Asparagus & Baby Bella Mushroom

Home-made Pumpkin Pie ---- my kiddos rate it the best pumpkin pie in the whole wild world! (And I agree)

Kid's plate "I want the whole leg!"

An other whole leg plate.

My plate this year. MmmMmmGood!

Fresh harvest from the back yard. Oranges come one month earlier than usual. Sweet & crispy taste.
